wartime guarantee of military grain during the Total Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Howeverđ excessive
mobilization and the increasing collection of grain expropriation carried a foreshadowing of the Kuomintang regime's failure
after the War of Resistance.

Japanese Language Education for the Enemy Work in the CPC's Counter-Japanese Forces
…………………………………………………………………………………… Zhou Dajun̵ 77̶
During the Total Resistance against Japanese Aggressionđthe CPC's counter-Japanese forcesđaccording to the CPC's
political work policiesđconducted Japanese language education activities for the purpose of cultivating Japanese language
talents in the enemy work organizationsđand built short-term and long-term Japanese language training institutes in the
troopsđschools and headquarters offices. These education activities directly promoted the effectiveness of the training of
enemy work cadresđpropaganda to enemiesđtreatment of prisonersđanti-War activitiesđenemy's situation investigations
and other works. The Japanese language education opened up a way to cultivate military foreign language talents under the
war environmentđproviding useful experience for the development of foreign language education in the CPC's army.
The Japanese Army's Factors in the Process of the Aftermath of the Southern Anhui Incident
…………………………………………………………………………………… Zhang Zhan̵ 89̶
After the outbreak of the South Anhui Incidentđthe Central Committee of the CPC adopted the policy of political
attack and military defense. After observationđthe Japanese army believed that the Kuomintang and the CPC would
eventually compromise with each otherđand the Incident would not have a great impact on the war situation. The plan of
Japan's China Expeditionary Army to concentrate on eliminating the occupied areas such as HebeiđJiangsu and Shandong
was rejected by General Staff Headquarters. The Japanese army made a strategic policy of attacking the Kuomintang army
before the“southward advance”and forcing the Nationalist government to seek peace. The attack launched by the Japanese
army according to the policy destroyed the Kuomintang's military deployment and objectively relieved the pressure of the
CPCđand also provided a convincing basis for the Central Committee of the CPC to adhere to the policy of the united front.
In Mayđthe Japanese army launched an attack on Wei Lihuang's army and spread the false intelligence that they would
attack Shaanxiđwhich caused panic in the Kuomintang and softened its position to seek assistance from the CPCđ
facilitating the further easing of the relations between the Kuomintang and the CPC. On the occasion of the so-called
“political situation”between the Kuomintang and the CPC after the southern Anhui Incidentđthe Japanese army firstly
observedđthen conducted a series of operations and actually entered the gameđand finally accelerated the emergence of the
aftermath with the Battle of Zhongtiao Mountain. This might not necessarily be within the Japanese planđbut it had
objectively played an important role in the reconciliation of the Kuomintang and the CPC.
