From November 4, 1944 to March 26, 1945, a total of 69 balloons of
Japanese origin were found in the United States, Canada, Alaska, Mexico,

and Hawaii. Incendiar y bombs were found with eight of the balloons.

Fieen additional incidents of bomb explosions and bomb recover ies have

been reported. e balloons were recovered at locations including

Washington, Oregon, Kansas, Central California, Norther n California,
North of Hawaii, Alaska, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, and Iowa. e

bombs had caused little damage since some were lost at sea, and many fuses
