and broblast cells (increase in the production of cells throughout the
body, surrounding the muscles, leading to cancer).
Spleen: Angio-folliculitis (in ammation of hair follicles leading to hair

Testicles: Atrophia Testes (for male subjects, shrinking and ceasing
function of the testicles).
e “Q” report, also by Shozo Kondo, is a study of the e ects of bubonic
plague on humans. e number of subjects in the study was 57, ranging in
age from toddlers to 80 year olds with mixed genders. is study des cribed
spreading the plague by dispersing eas among the local population in June
of 1940 in Noan and Shinkyo (currently Changchun). Seven of the plague
victims were Japanese residing in Shinkyo at the time. e report also states
that “Shinkyo” could not be contaminated for some time, though the
language used is highly unclear on whet her or not contaminating the city
with the plague was a desired objective. e city was eventually
contaminated by plague epidemics emerging in the “Noan-region” and that
eventually spread to “Shinkyo” due to the lack of immunity developed by
townspeople. (Due to this, we may assume “Noan” is somewhere near
“Shinkyo” or Changchun).
e length of subjects’ sur vival time was fairly consistent in the rep ort,
ranging from 2-5 days, with only three sur viving 12, 18, and 21 days.
Additionally, the range of what the subjects were infected with varied from
Glandular, Cutaneous, or Septicemic Plague, but most of the subjects were
infected with the Glandular Plague. e rep ort was most likely done by
