autopsy instead of vivisection since they probably collected the dead from
their biological weapons attack at the time.
Detailed notes on the effects of the disease reported the e ects of the
bubonic plague and include:
Heart: Intense degeneration and atrophy (general breakdown and
weakening of all parts of the heart, causing cease of function and heart
failure), congestion and bacterial buildup in capillaries (buildup of
diseased material in the many small veins throughout the heart, halting
blood ow throughout the heart), congestion of tissue around the aorta
(diseased material buildup around the main vein of the heart, causing
radically decreased blood ow and possible heart attacks or strokes),
some round cell accumulation (highly concentrated and aggressive
malignant tumors, causing cancer)
Tonsil: Submucous congestion (swelling in the lower layer of cells of
the mucous membrane due to problems in blood ow, causing further
blood ow congestion and leakage of blood cells), bacter ial buildup in
capillaries (congestion in the small veins throughout the tonsils,
slowing blood ow), edema (swelling of the tonsils, causing difficulty
breathing, speaking, or swallowing)
Phar ynx: Intense congestion (causing extreme difficulty eating,
swallowing, breathing, or speaking), catarrh (excessive discharge of
mucus from in ammation of mucous membrane, causing congestion)
Epiglottis: Intense congestion and edema (swelling and bacter ial
buildup on the leaf-shaped ap that stops food from enter ing the
windpipe/lungs, causing extreme difficulty breathing, swallowing, or
speaking)
